Cannabis sativa (Cannabis sativa L.) is a species of plant in the Cannabaceae family . Depending on the systematic approach, the only representative of the monotype of hemp (Cannabis Linnaeus, Sp. Pl. 1027. 1 Mai 1753) or one of several separate species. It is found in the Altai Mountains, Tienshan Mountains, as well as in the Caucasus and Afghanistan. As a cultivated plant widespread in different parts of the world. In Poland, it can go wild and occur as an ephemerophyte (hemp) or kenophyte (wild hemp) occupying ruderal habitats.

Use of hemp

Hemp is used to produce fibers of versatile use:

clothing industry – hemp clothes are light, airy, breathable and durable.
automotive industry – hemp fibers have been tested as an ingredient used in the manufacture of car bodies . Vehicles m.in hemp were produced by Ford in 1941^[13] and Lotus Cars^[14].
boatbuilding – until the end of the nineteenth century, 70% of the rigging of all ships was made of hemp fibers.
building materials – Pakuły (fiber) (hemp hyphae) is successfully used as ecological insulation of houses and sealing threaded connections.
papermaking – the first paper created in China was made of hemp fibers. The production of paper from hemp is much more efficient than the production of wood paper.

Hemp seeds and oil pressed from them are also of versatile use:

Food industry – hemp oil and seeds are valued for their high nutritional value.
Production of biodiesel – diesel oil can be successfully produced from hemp oil.

Hemp can also be successfully produced for fuel biomass.

Due to the content of many medicinal substances, hemp is used as an anxiolytic, analgesic, antipsychotic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antispasmodic and as antibiotics.

CBD

CBD (cannabidiol) is a cannabinoid found naturally in hemp. Vegetable cannabinoids are insoluble in water, they dissolve only in fats and alcohols and other non-polar organic solvents. CBD belongs to more than 85 cannabinoids that we can find in hemp. Products containing CBD are available in the form of a liquid, thick oil or paste (higher concentrations of CBD). CBD does not have psychoactive properties unlike the famous THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), which is why it can be used in 100% by virtually everyone. How does CBD work?

CBD acts on cannabinoid receptors located on the surface of cells. Two cannabinoid receptors found in the human body have been distinguished: CB-1 (CNR1) which can affect, for example, pain perception or increase appetite and CB-2 (CNR2) which affects the regulation of the immune response process.

Research on the use of CBD
