What are CBD crystals?

CBD crystals are ultra-purified compounds consisting of about 98-99 percent CBD. Since CBD crystals only contain CBD, you won't notice the grassy flavor and aroma associated with other hemp oils. Indeed, this white, powdery substance is completely odorless and tasteless.

To produce this incredibly pure product, manufacturers must use multiple rounds of solvent-based extraction to refine hemp oil. Alternatively, extractors can use supercritical CO2 to create hemp oil without solvent residue.

Another common practice used when making CBD crystals is "wintering"." As the name suggests, wintering involves placing hemp oil in a freezing chamber with a solvent. The primary purpose of wintering is to separate the fat molecules from the purified CBD. Technically, CBD crystals are classified as CBD isolate.
