Impurities in hemp oils

The CBD oils and pastes used must be free of impurities and waste that may pose a short- or long-term threat to our health. The plants from which CBD is made are exposed to several types of chemical and microbiological contaminants throughout the production process. It is required that they are free of heavy metals, herbicides, pesticides, bacteria and fungi.

The heavy metals that can be found in plants are lead, mercury, cadmium and chromium. These metals accumulate in parts of our body. After reaching a certain level of these toxins, the so-called metabolic imbalance is created in the body, which leads later to poisoning. This poisoning is called, for example, lead and is characterized by the accumulation of metals in soft tissues, bones and blood, which causes physiological disorders and even leads to death.

Chemical pollution. Non-metallic: Arsenic, nitrates and nitrites and derivatives

Water pollution with arsenic is much more common than is thought. Contact with arsenic and its derivatives can lead to skin irritation and even in some cases skin cancer. Plants can naturally absorb arsenic and store it in their tissues.

Nitrites are the reason for the presence of nitrogen in plants. Crops require the use of a certain amount of nitrogen to obtain an optimal level of cultivation. When artificial fertilizers with organic nitrogen are added, this changes in the soil into ammonium salts, nitrites and nitrates. When nitrates have access to our body, some of them can turn into nitrites, and these in turn can produce substances that pose a high risk to our health.

Pesticide residues

CBD hemp oils to be given for consumption should not contain pesticide residues. Sometimes we have to use pesticides that are on the list of safe agents to grow hemp.

Biological contaminants

Biological contaminants are microbes (bacteria, fungi and yeast) that may be present in the final product.

What should you keep in mind before buying CBD products?

Hemp oil should be labelled with the description of the solution and have clearly marked quantities of each cannabinoid contained.

Hemp oil should have an approximate dosage.

The exact concentration of the active ingredient CBD must be written on the product.

The product should have a certificate of analysis on which you can check the content of active substances, the content of THC substances, confirmed the absence of heavy metals, herbicides, pesticides and other impurities.
